STAR Awards short list announced
A photojournalism lecturer, a fire station union learning rep and a college chief executive are just three of over 100 nominees who have been short-listed for one of the 2009 LSIS STAR Awards. The awards are organised and funded by the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) and the judges found the standard and quality to be higher than ever.
Dr David Collins, chief executive of the Learning and Skills Improvement Service said: "I am delighted that the people short-listed for the awards will have the national spotlight shining on them. They should, rightly, feel valued to have been identified as ‘STARs’. I warmly congratulate all of them and look forward to meeting them at the national ceremony on 26 November when the winners will be announced."
